Bell Hill Pottery
Will isn’t an artist. In fact, the artists surrounding him since his youth have rarely impressed him. Will is a potter, who is excited more when experimenting with his craft than he engages with “artist culture.” His relationship with pottery is simple. It excites him. It teaches him. There are endless opportunities to be frustrated or intrigued or amused after his ceramics have been fired. A good day is when he has made something that could be considered great, and still, he sometimes laughs to himself when he thinks about what he’s doing with his life. There’s a distinct pleasure he gets out of doing what he loves.
While his pieces are unique and artistically expressed, they are still intended to be utilitarian and functional. Your experience with how you interact with his art is your own, but there is consideration on his end for the way his tea pottery will interact with its user. His double walled pots were molded as to not burn the hands, but moreso, it offers the user the benefit of enjoying beautiful design.
Will’s time is spent by the woods, by the water, and with his dog, Olive. By his words, this is all he needs. Away from stressful encounters, where nothing happens, and where he can be relaxed, his interests are engaged with what happens out in nature and subsurface scenes.
Bell Hill Pottery is intended to be used for tea in the ceremonious Gongfu cha style of enjoying tea versus drinking tea to be caffeinated, however, it is encouraged that the user be creative in how they use Bell Hill Pottery. Whether it contains sake, tea, or a small plant, is up to you.
